Celebrating Cancer Research Wales’ 23rd Anniversary Golf Day

This year Cancer Research Wales celebrated their 23rd Anniversary Golf Day at the prestigious Llanishen Golf Club on Thursday 13th June. The event welcomed over 70 guests all competing for the Geoff Williams Trophy. We welcomed our teams with hot drinks, delicious cakes (kindly donated by Finsbury Foods), welsh cakes (kindly donated by the catering staff and students at Coleg Y Cymoedd) and yummy bread rolls (kindly donated by Penrhiwgyngi Farm Bakery) all prepared by our fantastic volunteers. The first tee-time was 11am and saw Cancer Research Wales’ charity partner Bartholomew Hawkins set off!

Everyone’s a Winner!

The forecast for the day was DOWNPOUR however our teams did not let that get in the way and persevered with umbrellas in hand! All teams played full handicap as well at participating in a 2’s competition kindly organised by Professional, Adrian Jones. As well as teams competing for our trophy we also ran competitions for longest drive, best dressed golfer, ladies cup and nearest to the pin where teams were competing for fantastic prizes.

Congratulations to all our winners!

1st Place – Reginald Moore Ltd.

2nd Place – The Long Shots

3rd Place – Apollo Distributions

4 Sealed Holes – Cradoc Cronk’s

Ladies Cup Winners – Julie Coxell & Friends
